Boxes, Boxes, Boxes....

The beginning of organizing for packing.  The video survey will begin Monday morning.  I will also have to take my pictures of items in the basement storage room, on the walls, in cabinets in the kitchen.  There is much to do and three weeks until we leave.  Aliyah Lift in Israel is coordinating our packing and we are making lists of everything that will be going.  Consolidating 49 years of married life and 39 years in one house into a major move is a major task!

The VISA at long last

It has been months since I have written.  With Covid19 on the rise in Israel and the US during February and March, we were advised to hold onto our passports before mailing them off to the Jewish Agency in Chicago.  That office is the one responsible for receiving our request for a visa and sending that request onto the consulate of Israel in Chicago. Finally on June 1st we received notice that we should send in our request, so off went our passports, along with all the appropriate paperwork for receiving a visa. Our visas were issued on June 30th, after our friend, Robert Evnen (who is Nebraska's Secretary of State) placed a call to the Consulate and mentioned that our visas were waiting to be issued.  Lo and behold, they arrived here on July 3rd via FedEx.  Now we are officially able to make aliyah. Of course that doesn't mean we are ready to hop on a plane and take off.  There is much to do.  Charlie has a car to sell.  We have wills to redo a...
